The principle of compacting
with the patented Laserfil system happens by applying
thrusts converging from opposite directions on the two
halves of a whole of fibres placed on a drafting roller,
in such a way as to make them converge towards the middle
part of the roller itself. When these fibres are compacted
they form a compact, homogeneous nucleus suitable to act
as PRESSED YARN before the twisting phase.
The patented Laserfil system
is a device in which a compacting roller can be pressed
against each drafting roller. This compacting roller is
then pulled into the rotation of the drafting roller by
means of two cylindrical parts got at its ends, which are
in contact with the drafting roller itself. (See fig. 2)
The compacting roller gives
the fibres a thrust towards a central throat, thus
carrying out an operation of reliable, precise and gradual
compacting.
